Erika Hammerschmidt explains why she was "born on the wrong planet"
Erika Hammerschmidt is a young woman with Asperger Syndrome. Throughout her childhood, Erika was subjected to the sometimes cruel experiences associated with being different and not being able to "escape." In her autobiography, Born on the Wrong Planet, Erika openly describes her childhood and young adulthood and how she copes with the challenges associated with having Asperger Syndrome.
Erika's courageous and positive attitude is an inspiration to others as she shows that "even if you feel like an alien, that doesn't negate your potential as a successful human being or your ability to realize your potential."
